Spring Showcase Is Just Around the Corner…
It’s hard enough waiting for spring — which is supposed to be mere days away. But it’s even harder to wait for Arthur Murray’s perennial Grand Rapids dance hit, Spring Showcase! Our students have been “smoothing” their moves and getting ready to put on the ‘ritz’ and ‘glitz’ for our fabulous, 3-studio, citywide showcase, slated for April 21st at the JW Marriot ballroom. Students, don’t miss this chance to dance the day and night away while supporting your fellow students. If you’re not already a student, Showcase is one of the many special events that make Arthur Murray studios the best place in town for social dance lessons!
We’re excited to announced that the Showcase Judges will be Donovan and Carolyn Dominguez, the power pair of the smooth rhythm future champions title. Very limited coaching sessions will be available the following day, so talk to your teacher!
About Donovan & Carolyn Dominguez
Donovan and Carolyn Dominguez are top ranked professional dance competitors and instructors. Donovan has been ranked in the top 20 instructors in Arthur Murray worldwide and has achieved first place for the last four years in the Instructor competition for the All Star Tournament and Tournament of Champions. Donovan and Carolyn are an exciting and powerful couple to watch. Together they have moved quickly up the ranks in each style.
In both Smooth and Rhythm they first won the Future Champion division, followed by the Rising Star division, and now consistently place at the top in the highest level, the Open division. One of their favorite dances is the Mambo which they won 3rd place at the 2009 and 2010 National Championships in Florida, and 5th at the world Mambo championships held in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
They achieved the 2009 Arthur Murray World Nine Dance Champions and currently rank 2nd in United States in Nine Dance. Most recently Donovan and Carolyn attained one of the most prestigious awards as the Ohio Star Ball Rising Star Rhythm Champions.
